What is Music Therapy?

Music Therapy is an allied health care profession that administers clinical and evidence based music intervention. Qualified credentialed professionals hold the designation “MT-BC”. MT-BCs use music to promote non-music goals and objectives to support cognitive, social, emotional, motor, sensory, wellness goals and more.

Music Therapists with the designation “MT-BC” are credentialed professionals who have graduated with a degree in Music Therapy from an accredited university, completed a 1200 hour (minimum) clinical internship, and passed a board certification exam administered through the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
